Recommended Reading and Resources

The number of books on mindfulness has grown exponentially over the last 10 years. This page displays some of the more prominent and respected books about mindfulness by leading authors and practitioners in the field. We recommend Eric Harrison’s, The Foundations of Mindfulness, and Williams and Penman’s, Mindfulness a Practical Guide to finding Peace in a Frantic World as excellent texts to start with. Jon Kabat-Zinn’s books and CD’s are also excellent resources for beginners wishing to explore the MBSR approach to mindfulness.

At the end of this page are also some mindfulness meditation / MBSR audio resources by Jon Kabat-Zinn (Series 1, 2 and 3). Most of these resources can be purchased on-line at and at Amazon, and some may be available locally at The Bodhi Tree, Book Cafe in Mt Hawthorn, on the corner of Oxford Street and Scarborough Beach Road.
